“Before Math Nation: Spent hours finding curriculum resources and copying the worksheets and activities for students. Student performance on South Carolina state exams increased slightly with the activities. After Math Nation: Spent minutes preparing lessons. Utilized the built-in digital apps. Students experienced using technology to solve real-world math problems. Students who were absent or learning virtually could still learn the concepts using the videos and online assignments. 1. Is this the same program that SC DE pays for each year?

No, this is an entirely new core curriculum developed specifically for the 2025 SC CCR standards. Since 2017, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with SC DE to offer a supplemental program to South Carolina schools and districts. However, that program and its content are completely separate from the core curriculum product now available for selection in the instructional materials adoption process.

  2. Is this a core or supplement program?

Math Nation: South Carolina is a comprehensive core curriculum, custom-designed to align with the 2025 SC CCR mathematics standards. This all-inclusive program provides everything needed for core instruction, including differentiation, remediation, acceleration, personalized learning, additional skills practice, and assessment—ensuring complete support for every student’s learning journey.

  3. Are Teacher Editions included or purchased separately?

When you choose Math Nation: South Carolina, every educator receives a full-color Teacher Edition. These editions are consistent across grades, units, and lessons, and include: Lesson goals and learning targets, detailed lesson narratives, alignment with instructional routines, activity instructions and guidance, and access and equity considerations. With Math Nation: South Carolina’s Teacher Editions, you’ll have everything you need in one place for clear, confident teaching. Each lesson is thoroughly outlined, providing structure without being scripted, ensuring flexibility in your instruction.

  4. Is implementation training included for educators?

Yes! In-depth implementation training for teachers, leaders, and instructional coaches is included through a virtual format. Our virtual implementation training offers an immersive experience, modeling the problem-based teaching philosophy while guiding participants through the Math Nation: South Carolina’s platform from both student and teacher perspectives. The session includes effective lesson planning strategies, ready-to-use assessment tools, and an introduction to our supplemental resources, such as EdgeXL and On-Ramp. This interactive training addresses key questions like ‘What is it?’, ‘Where is it?’, and ‘How do I access it?’, ensuring participants leave with practical knowledge and confidence.

But our commitment doesn’t end there. We offer a wide range of additional professional development options (face-to-face and virtual) tailored to meet your specific needs. Together, we’ll create a customized robust plan that fully supports your curriculum implementation, giving you the confidence to achieve great results.

  5. Does the program include assessments?

Math Nation: South Carolina offers a variety of formative and summative assessment options in both print and digital formats. Whether you need auto-graded, end-of-lesson formative assessments with immediate feedback for students or paper-based, end-of-unit assessments complete with comprehensive assessment guides on common misconceptions and scoring recommendations, we’ve got you covered!

  6. How does the program support multilingual learners?

Math Nation’s multilingual supports are thoughtfully designed to meet students at their current level and accelerate their progress toward grade-level math mastery. These tiered supports empower students to advance independently, both at school and at home. All lesson components, including print workbooks and instructional videos, are available in English and Spanish, digital workbooks have been translated into over 100 languages, and embedded glossary videos are offered in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, and American Sign Language. Even more, each lesson guide (print and digital) includes specific guidance for teachers supporting multilingual learners for every single activity in the lesson.

  7. Are family resources provided?

Math Nation South Carolina: Curriculum is designed with families in mind. We provide specific guidance for each course on how to leverage all the resources available to best support their student in their math journey. Families also have unlimited access to a comprehensive library of multilingual Study Expert videos that can be downloaded on our iOS and Android mobile apps, ensuring access anytime, anywhere
