As president and CEO, Philip Galati leads the next phase of Accelerate Learning’s foundational pursuit to make STEM education accessible for all students through forming innovative partnerships, disrupting the status quo, and furthering the development of high-quality STEM curricula. A seasoned leader in the technology industry, Galati’s experience uniquely positions him to understand the future needs of STEM educators and students. After spending years observing trends in technology and leading businesses, he knows what skills will be required of future tech employees, the very students that STEMscopes serves. Galati joins Accelerate Learning with a deep background in software and technology, most recently serving as CEO of Energy Services Group (ESG), a provider of back-office, billing and data management SaaS solutions for the energy industry. Under his leadership, ESG grew into an international technology leader serving millions of consumers in North America, Europe, and Japan. Prior to that, Galati spent two years as CEO of Trillium Software, and earlier in his career, he held numerous leadership positions in software, technology, and professional services companies, including Sterling Commerce, Dell, IBM, and Ernst & Young. Galati applies his visionary leadership at Accelerate Learning to ensure that STEMscopes remains a leader in PreK-12 STEM.

Glen Kimmel joined Accelerate Learning in February 2022 and brings 30 years of experience in financial management to the company. Glen honed his expertise in financial operations in international, private equity backed firms and publicly traded companies. Glen brings a strong background in GAAP reporting, financial analysis and strategic management, and leadership experience within global enterprise software companies. Most recently, he was vice president of finance for Energy Services Group (ESG), a leading software provider in the retail energy market. Prior to that, he oversaw financial operations for companies including Trillium Software and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. He graduated from Drexel University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Prior to joining Accelerate Learning Amanda was the Secondary Coordinator of Science and Health in Humble ISD. In that role she was able to help teachers and students by designing curriculum, instruction, and assessments around best science practices. Her former role also allowed her to influence teachers during professional development opportunities while she was the Project Director for the Lake Houston Science Collaborative (affiliated with the Texas Regional Collaborative). In addition, Amanda spent eight years in the classroom as a middle and high school science teacher and an instructional coach. In 2014, Amanda chose to leave the public education space to join Accelerate Learing to have a larger impact on STEM education. With the company she has served as a Curriculum Manager, Director of Currciulum Development, and now Vice President of Curriculum Development. In this role, she has led an amazing team of Curriculum Managers who have spearheaded the charge to share STEMscopes Science across the nation and even internationally with our STEMscopes Science, powered by CNN product. Amanda believes that our mission at Accelerate Learning is to equip teachers with a “one-stop-shop” for hands-on, constructivist, standards-aligned Math and Science lessons to increase student performance and engagment. She is proud and humbled to be able to support the teachers who use our product.

Dominic Via has spent his entire career in education. His passion for inspiring students and educators brought him to Accelerate learning in April 2020. Via began teaching English and coaching basketball in Abilene, TX. He later moved to Lubbock ISD, where he was named teacher of the year in 2000. After spending a decade in the classroom, he served Frenship High School as an assistant principal for two years. In 2004, he began his sales career at McGraw-Hill Education, where he earned the Pinnacle Award for attaining 200 percent+ quota for four consecutive years. In 2012, Achieve 3000 named him Regional Vice President (RVP) of the year. He’s led sales teams at five different companies, gaining experience with curriculum ranging from early childhood to higher ed. As the first Vice President of Math Sales at Accelerate Learning, he works diligently with colleagues to build on the early success of the math curriculum, which was launched in 2019. He challenges himself and others to resist the status quo in an effort to elevate the company to new heights for the teachers and students we serve. In his spare time, he enjoys gatherings with friends and family and gardening at his home in Southlake, TX. A life-long sports enthusiast, he’s spent 20 years coaching basketball for his children and their friends.

W.C. Hayes has spent his career in education. He brings a wealth of expertise in ed tech, e-learning, technology integration, instructional design, and educational leadership to his position at Accelerate Learning. Most recently, W.C. was the Director of Partnerships at UnboundEd. Before that, he served in Senior Regional Director roles at Achieve3000 and McGraw Hill. He started his career in 1995 as a classroom teacher and coach in Oklahoma City, where he was named Millwood High School Teacher of the Year. After moving to the Houston area, he continued teaching in Spring ISD and Katy ISD, where he later became a campus leader. W.C. is a graduate of Jackson State University, and he earned a master’s degree in education from Prairie View A&M University and a master’s in educational psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma.

Heather has had the pleasure of working in the People field for over 15 years, developing HR departments from the ground up for rapidly growing businesses across multiple industries. She has a proven track record of leading organizational change and culture transformation, setting the foundation of a company’s HR policies, processes, and practices, and driving important operational improvements around workforce planning and performance. Heather was most recently VP, Human Resources for Vision Government Solutions and Chief People Officer for Energy Services Group. As SVP of Human Resources for Accelerate Learning, Heather leads a team responsible for reinforcing a strong company culture, developing high-performing teams, and creating engagement and reward programs that employees are proud of. Heather has an MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management from Fitchburg State University and a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She also serves as a member of the Northeast HR Association (NEHRA), where she contributes expertise and thought leadership to NEHRA’s online community, holds speaking engagements and facilitates group discussions. She is professionally certified as a Society of Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, reading, traveling, and being outdoors.

Reid Whitaker is the creator of STEMscopes, which led to his being named by EdTech Digest as one of the nation’s leading “Eduprenuers” or Education Entrepreneurs. Reid is an advocate for providing a high-quality education for our most underserved and underrepresented students. He began his teaching career with Teach For America as a 5th grade and elementary science lab teacher, for which he was awarded the HEB Texas Excellence in Education Rising Star Award. Reid also provided numerous hours of professional development training and coaching to teachers in Houston ISD by being a content specialist for the district and then as an Associate Director for the Center for Education at Rice University. Subsequently, Reid returned to Port Houston Elementary as principal. In his three years as principal, he raised the accountability rating of the school from Academically Acceptable to Exemplary, earning Port Houston Elementary a spot in the top 2 percent of all HISD schools for student growth. In 2009, Reid received the distinguished Houston’s Emerging Leader Award from the Greater Houston Partnership. Reid returned to Rice University to create STEMscopes and joined Accelerate Learning to help solve the STEM crisis in our country and globally through our biggest lever to eradicate this problem—education. He earned his PhD from his alma mater, Rice University, in Educational Administration. When he’s not being an “edupreneur” he likes to read, garden, swim, and play with his pets.

Javier began his career with large international corporations where he cut his marketing teeth on product management, branding, new product launches, analysis, sales support strategies, and technology resources. But it was his passion to apply his knowledge to an area that aligned with his ideals that led him to the world of education technology. In 2004 Javier joined Pearson Education and quickly made his mark helping the company transform its focus from print and textbooks to digital solutions. As Director of Digital Marketing he championed the company’s digital portfolio product marketing plans. Javier developed and directed B2B and B2C strategic and brand marketing plans for digital, print, and virtual learning curriculum product portfolios. His professional growth continued with a move to Adaptive Curriculum, an international online math and science software company where, as Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, Javier headed up all B2B and B2C marketing, product management, IT, and implementation strategy operations; launched a direct-to-consumer business and ecommerce platform; and developed new market opportunities in Latin America. Originally native to Arizona, Javier now works in the STEMscopes corporate office, calling Houston, Texas home. In his spare time he enjoys many outdoor activities including running, hiking, and cycling!

Keith brings more than 20 years of experience and a quantifiable track record in product strategy results in global enterprise software and technology companies to Accelerate Learning. Keith’s strengths include a deep knowledge of the product management process, an ability to work closely with subject matter experts across a variety of disciplines, and both rich technical expertise and experience with global enterprise software companies. Most recently, Keith served as vice president of product management at Syncsort where he was responsible for setting strategy, roadmaps, and go-to-market plans across the company’s global brands. Previous experience includes director of product management at Ascential Software, and program director of the InfoSphere Information Server at IBM. Kohl received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Purdue University in Indiana.
